If the CHT engine experiences a drop in idle speed shortly after the first start, especially when the engine is cold, there are some very common causes. Since you are using a Weber 460 carburetor in the CHT Kit 1.6, it's worth checking the following points: 1. Choke (automatic or manual choke) If it's not working correctly, the engine starts and quickly loses RPM. Check if the choke keeps the throttle partially closed while the engine is cold. 2. Idle mixture The mixture may be a little lean. A small adjustment to the mixture screw may stabilize the idle speed at startup. 3. Idle speed If it's set too low (below about 850–900 rpm), it's common to have a drop in RPM until the engine warms up. 4. False air intake Check the carburetor base, gaskets, vacuum hoses, and intake manifold. Any air intake makes the mixture lean, especially with a cold engine. 5. Float level A low fuel level in the float bowl can cause this drop in RPM soon after starting. 6.
