Linda George - Barwar (With Translation and Assyrian Lyrics)

A patriotic video I made about the village of Barwar in modern South-East Turkey which was captured by the Ottoman Turks during the Ottoman empire with the help of Kurds during the Assyrian/Armenian/Pontic Greek Genocide in 1915. The village today is inhabited by mainly Kurds and the Assyrians have fled to the diaspora. The song is based on the poem "Tashish" which is a small village near Doori in the outskirts of the region Barwari Bala (now part of the Dohuk province of Iraq which is just off the border line that connects to Turkey). Don't forget to turn on captions in English. I will also be adding Assyrian (Aramaic) lyrics in Garshuni (Arabic) script. Enjoy!
