The tour started on January 22, 1979, with the opening concert in Bremen, Germany. They toured 3 continents and 9 countries, playing 83 concerts in the US alone. The tour ended in Hawaii on January 13, 1980. Destiny is the thirteenth studio album released by the American group The Jacksons/The Jackson 5, in 1978, by Epic Records. The disc has sold over two million copies worldwide. The album marked the first time in the band's career that they had total artistic control, and was also the first album produced by the brothers. The band had left Motown in 1975, with the exception of Jermaine Jackson, who had stayed with Motown after he married the daughter of record label owner Berry Gordy, Hazel Gordy and they had two children together named La Jaune Jermaine Jackson, Jr. (born January 27, 1977, California) and Autumn Joy Jackson (born July 10, 1978). Like many of the acts that had left Motown, the Jacksons had to accept the possibility that they wouldn't have the same level of success they had while they were at Motown. The first single "Blame It on the Boogie" was written by Mick Jackson, an English writer, who had his own version of the song on the British charts at the same time, but it was the brothers' version, however, that was the most successful. and therefore better known.
