Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) is a problem occurring across the globe, including in Southeastern Ohio. This lesson covers the basic chemistry behind AMD and the remediation processes, as well as how organisms within the stream are affected by AMD. There is a lab demonstration reviewing how metals dissolve and precipitate depending on pH.
