Fatal Split - China Southern 3943 and Sriwijaya Air 182

Two eerily similar crashes, despite happening almost three decades apart. Recreated in X-Plane 11 China Southern Airlines Flight 3943 was a China Southern Airlines flight from the former Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Guangzhou to Guilin Qifengling Airport, Guilin, China. On 24 November 1992, the Boeing 737-3Y0 crashed on a mountain while descending to Guilin Airport, killing all 141 people aboard. Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Jakarta to Pontianak, Indonesia. Five minutes after departing from Soekarno–Hatta International Airport on 9 January 2021, the Boeing 737-500 experienced an upset condition and crashed into the Java Sea off the Thousand Islands just 4 minutes after takeoff, killing all 62 people on board.
