(World Record) Hollow Knight - True Ending NMG Speedrun in 1:00:59

World's first sub 1:01! This run took a substantial amount of effort. It has its flaws but I think I'm going to leave it here for now. Super happy that I was able to achieve this. Also very grateful for everyone that cheered me on and kept me company during the journey to this point. FAQ: Q: Sub hour soon? A: Probably not, at least not without a substantial reroute. A well-optimized run loses about 2 seconds per minute of run to community golds. The community golds as of this run add up to about a 58:40, and that would have to drop about another 40 seconds before sub hour could be reasonably considered. Even if you don't consider the length of the run, there's a lot of extremely RNG splits for which you're likely getting nowhere near community gold, let alone stringing enough of them together in one run to get a sub hour. Q: Can you do Itemless Baldur for this run? A: There is a route that does the Itemless Baldur skip, but this route only saves about 15 seconds optimally on the Vengeful Spirit route. This route also makes it much harder to get out of earlygame, adding 4 all-new fury bosses and everything else that comes with doing itemless baldur. All this considered I opted not to do this route for this run, but you could likely get a run that's marginally faster than this one if you do this route. Q: What do the things like "[1U]" in the splits mean? A: These are stag directions. If I take a stag in a split, I'll look there to see where to go. U is for up and D is for down. Q: Was your PB actually a 1:01:00? A: No, this is a theory comparison I made. The idea is that if you're ahead of the comparison, then you're on 1:00:xx pace. Q: Why do some of your splits have names? A: I have a channel points redeem on my Twitch channel that lets people rename splits to whatever they want. Some choose some interesting split names...
