July 16, 2026: ADDRESS BY PRESIDENT FERHAT MEHENNI TO THE KABYLIAN PEOPLE AND INTERNATIONAL OPINION On July 16, 2026, Ferhat Mehenni denounced "new false accusations" by the Algerian regime against the MAK and announced an emergency meeting of the Supreme Security Council in Kabylia. Following the announcement by the Algerian Ministry of Defense of the alleged defeat of a group linked to the MAK and composed primarily of Moroccan citizens, Ferhat Mehenni, President of the Kabyle Government in Exile (Anavad) and of the Kabyle Movement for Self-Determination (MAK), reacted strongly, denouncing a "new manipulation" aimed at criminalizing the Kabyle independence movement after the Kabyle people's overwhelming rejection of the Algerian legislative elections of July 2. On the one hand, Kabylia, as every summer, is facing a raging fire and the refusal of the colonial authorities to mobilize the necessary resources to extinguish them. On the other hand, Israel is once again accused, as in 2021, of conspiring with Morocco against Algeria. Out of fear of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel, for the first time, is not getting involved in this baseless scenario of summer 2026. The Supreme Security Council of Kabylia is urgently needed. It will meet today. I will mobilize the Kabyle people and the international community to respond to these new false accusations. Our credo remains unchanged: pacifism, the right of the Kabyle people to self-determination, and democracy. Free the political prisoners of Kabylia! Long live the Federal Republic of Kabylia!
