Several rice traders at Legi Songgolangit Market in Ponorogo reported a lack of customers due to the continued rise in rice prices. According to some traders, many people are simply buying rice by the kilo rather than buying large sacks. Currently, the price of rice has reached Rp 1,500 per kilogram. The price of rice that has increased is for medium-grade rice from various mills, from both local mills and rice from outside the region. Meanwhile, the price of Bulog rice remains stable at Rp 9,450 per kilogram. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain due to consumer demand. Traders currently only have rice from rice mills, not from Bulog. One trader, Suharti Ningsih, explained that the price increase is due to dwindling stocks of unhusked rice.
