George Harrison 's Final Performance - July 24, 1997 #thebeatles #georgeharrison
On July 24, 1997, George Harrison stopped by the VH1 Studios to help his old friend Ravi Shankar promote his new album. Ravi Shankar's wife was also present. This would be George's final live performance in front of a live audience. He had not planned on playing any music, but a young lady handed him her guitar and he ended up playing a few tunes to the delight of the tiny audience of VH1 staffers. Most touching was "All Things Must Pass". George looked and sounded great, and even showed interest in going on tour again. He would be diagnosed with throat cancer months later. Yes, "All Things Must Pass", but we still miss you George . . .
