631 May Parade Bochum 2019

631. Maischuetzenfest Bochum Parade on April, 26th 2019 With Bochumer Jungenlied - Bochum's Boys Song a traditional and some impressions of Bochum at the end. The May evening festival in Bochum based on an old legend which is not proved in all details. According to the story peasants from Dortmund acted as rustlers and captured cattle in Bochum. Bochum's cowherd alarmed the sleeping medieval town. The peasants of Bochum charged the Dortmunders and failed to get the cattle back. Count Engelbert's knights and the peasants of Bochum charged and overcame the rustlers. As a thank-you gift Count Engelbert gave a tree to the peasants of Bochum who then promised to plant a May tree year by year. The highlight of this event is on Saturday the next day of the annual parade. The last Saturday in April the Maischuetzen are marching from the city to Bochum Harpen. In this suburban the May tree is digged out and later the party marches back. The knight bachelors carry the May tree on their shoulders. In the 1950s up to the 1980s or later the May tree was planted in Bochums city garden. Now it is auctioned so far as we know. This event was a welcome chance to check out the audio quality of the built-in microphone of our new bought Canon EOS 77D. It was our first video test of the 77D. Compared to the audio quality of Fujifilm XT cameras the Canon 77D has a poor quality. We recommend to use always an external mike wih a 77D. The footage up to four minutes 33 seconds was taken with a Fujifilm X-T20 camera and it's internal microphone. The footage after 4 minutes 34 seconds beginning with a police man on motorcycle was made with the canon 77D. It sounds poor and sometimes like a waterpipe as Germans would say.
