Advanced Structural Fire Models: Fire Modelling Options
Various models can be used to predict temperatures due to a fire. This talk gives an overview of various models that could be used such as: standard fires, parametric fires, zonal models, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and travelling fires. They all have their own place in research and associated advantages or disadvantages. This work forms part of the Stellenbosch University's Fire Engineering Research Unit (FireSUN) postgraduate program in fire engineering.
