If the ven or anus looks prominent and covered with many thick, large feathers, and when touched with your finger, it feels hard, it's definitely a male. However, if the ven or anus looks flat with the stomach and covered with few feathers, and when touched with your finger, it feels soft, it's definitely a female black-capped pleci.
