I Spent 1 Week in Nepal — From Kathmandu to Kalinchowk (Full Journey)

I spent one week in Nepal — and this is the full journey, uncut and in order. From landing in Kathmandu to standing at the Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple at 3,800 metres, this video covers everything I experienced across seven days in Nepal. No highlights package. No shortcut. Just the roads, the people, the temples, and the moments exactly as they happened. This is the Nepal most travel videos skip — yes, the famous spots are here, but so are the quiet drives through Dolakha district, the village roads leading up to Kuri Village and Kalinchowk, and the kind of slow travel that actually lets a place sink in. — Kathmandu The first few days were all Kathmandu. I started at Pashupatinath, one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world, then made my way to Boudha Stupa — the largest stupa in Nepal and one of the most quietly overwhelming places I have ever stood in. The energy there is unlike anything I had experienced before. From Boudha, I walked through the streets of old Kathmandu to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where Newari architecture and living history sit side by side. Then up to Dharahara Tower for a full panoramic view of the valley. And finally, Chandragiri Hills — a cable car ride above the city that gives you your first real look at the Himalayas on a clear day. Chandragiri is the moment Kathmandu stops feeling like a city and starts feeling like the edge of something much larger. The Road to Kalinchowk Leaving Kathmandu behind, the drive toward Kalinchowk takes you through the Dolakha district — winding mountain roads, terraced farmland, and villages that feel completely untouched by tourism. One of the most memorable stops on this stretch is Kuri Village, a small settlement on the route to Kalinchowk that most travellers drive straight through. I didn't.Kuri Village sits at a bend in the road where the valley opens up and the hills get steeper. It's the kind of place that makes you slow down. If you are planning a Kalinchowk trip, budget time for this stop — it is worth every minute. — Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple The final destination. Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple sits at the top of a green, rocky hilltop at 3,800 metres above sea level in the Dolakha district of Nepal. It is a Hindu pilgrimage site, a trekker's destination, and one of the most visually striking places I visited in all of Nepal. The road up is rough. The last stretch is steep. But when you arrive — the temple, the prayer flags, the 360-degree view of the Himalayan range — it all makes sense. There was no snow on the day I visited. Just green hills, crisp mountain air, and silence you can actually hear. This video is for anyone planning a Nepal trip and wondering what a real week there looks like. It's also for anyone who's already been and wants to go back.Nepal is not just Everest Base Camp. It's not just Pokhara. It's Chandragiri Hills at sunrise and the back roads of Dolakha and a small temple on a green hilltop that most people have never heard of.This is my Nepal. I hope it becomes yours too. 📌 Watch the full Nepal series — every individual video, every stop in detail — on my channel playlist. 🔔 Subscribe to Skippingplaces for travel that goes beyond the guidebook. #kalinchowknepal #KalinchowkTemple #KuriVillageKalinchowk #NepalTravelVlog #ChandragiriHills #NepalTravel #Kathmandu #BoudhaStupa #DurbarSquare #Dharahara #DolakhaNepal #NepalVlog #FullJourney #OneWeekinNepal #HiddenNepal #SkippingPlaces #TravelVlog #SouthAsiaTravel #NepalTourism
