BACKYARD PLEIN AIR PAINTING - with Suzanne Barrett Justis Sometimes the best subject for a plein air painting is right in your backyard ! In this en plein air painting tutorial, I will take you along on a little en plein air painting trip to paint some azaleas and Peonies on my back patio. This oil painting tutorial is suitable for beginners through advanced painters. I will show you how I work on the composition and and start laying in the colors to create depth and balance to the piece. You will also see some of the environmental challenges that occur when painting en plein air, but be reminded that sometimes those challenges are what make painting outside fun!! You will also see that sometimes those "fun challenges" make it so the actual completion of a painting may happen in the studio.
