Como fazer MÓVEIS para a KOMBIHOME | MOTORHOME | Aprendendo pelo Mundo | Episódio 07

In this video, we're going to start assembling the furniture/cabinets for our campervan. • If you're new to our channel and don't know what's going on, we're transforming this VW bus into a campervan, campervan, or VW camper to travel around the Americas and then take it to Portugal and continue through Europe, so don't miss out on our project. • The first piece of furniture/cabinet we built is the upper one next to the roof, which even has a voltmeter and cell phone charger for the campervan. • We started by measuring the width and length of the campervan's roof to take the first measurements of the cabinet/furniture, and then transfer them to cardboard, and finally to wood. • But why do we always do this?! • Because this way, we make the cardboard templates first and always check them several times, getting very close to the real measurements, and thus we don't waste wood. • When discussing the construction of furniture/cabinets for a VW Kombi/VW campervan, a major debate among Kombi owners is the exact thickness of wood to use. • We opted to use 18mm marine plywood for the furniture/cabinets because it allows for greater screw clearance, ensuring better fixation. • We fixed the wood of the cabinet/furniture underneath the iron beam/gutter that is next to the roof of the Kombi/VW campervan. This is because the roof of the VW Kombi/VW campervan is lower than other Kombis, such as the Clipper Kombi, and in our case it's smaller. Therefore, we opted to place it underneath to have a little more height for the cabinet/furniture. It was fixed with three screws on one side and on top of the side cabinet/furniture on the other. • After cutting, we applied a filler to the wood for a better finish and then began sanding. • All the wood was varnished before being placed in the campervan/kombihome. This was to make varnishing easier and to seal all the corners of the wood on the cabinets/furniture. • TIP: Whenever the wood comes into contact with the metal of the campervan, we apply glue and place a carpet to prevent friction between the wood of the furniture/cabinets and the metal of the campervan/kombihome, thus reducing internal noise. • To make the cabinet/furniture door, we measured the desired height every five centimeters, then transferred these measurements to cardboard and cut the wood. • This cabinet/furniture used two hinges and a lock that we bought on Aliexpress. • If you have a dream similar to ours, of traveling around the Americas, Brazil, your state, Europe, etc... the most important thing is to fulfill our dreams and be happy :) • Regardless of whether you have a VW Kombi campervan, VW 1, VW 2, VW 3, or other, do your own project and save a lot of money. We are doing this ourselves; we are doing about 95% of the labor for the entire project planning and construction of the VW Kombi campervan, VW 1, VW 2, or VW 3 ourselves. ================================================================================= • About our Channel: Learning Around the World is the channel of Ivo, Michely, and Pantera, who are dreaming, studying, learning, teaching, sharing, and planning to live in a 1970 VW Kombi camper van named "RosAnAlice". • They are planning to travel around the Americas and then take the Kombi to Europe to continue their adventure there. • While traveling, we show our routine in videos, which we record, produce, and edit ourselves. We cover topics such as: living on the road, tips on destinations, adventure, cultural differences, gastronomy, motivation, and more. • RosAnAlice is a 1970 VW Kombi, and it's our home on wheels. We hope it can withstand the roads of this big world. ================================================================================ ✔ Like and share ☺ ✔ Subscribe to the channel ☺ ✔ Select to receive notifications by clicking the bell on your phone and/or computer ☺ ================================================================================= • Also follow us on our other social media: ▶ Facebook:   / aprendendopelomundo   ▶ Instagram:   / aprendendopelom.  . • Email: ▶ [email protected] SEE YOU SOON #kombi #aprendendopelomundo #kombihome
