Turning the Inside of a Bowl with Hurricane Carbide Tools - The Woodturning Store

This is the third part of our Hurricane Carbide Tools series. Previously, Steve attached a bowl blank onto a faceplate and turned the outside of the blank as well as a tenon. In this video, Steve shows the next steps of turning a bowl. He removes the blank from the faceplate and attaches it to the Axminster Dovetail Jaws Type A Plus. Using the Hurricane Tool Rest and the Hurricane Roughing Carbide Tool, Steve starts turning the inside, explaining the best techniques. After rough turning the inside of the bowl and reaching marked depth, Steve switches to the Hurricane Finishing Carbide Tool to smooth out the walls of the bowl.
