A complex open-heart surgery was performed on a five-month-old baby from Algeria at the Specialty Hospital in Jordan. A specialized pediatric open-heart surgery team at the Specialty Hospital performed a complex and challenging operation on five-month-old Ayoub from Algeria. Ayoub suffered from cyanotic congenital heart defects. The open-heart surgery was successful, thanks be to God. The baby had been experiencing cold, cyanotic extremities despite being warm, a large ventricular septal defect with transposition of the great arteries, severe stenosis of the valve and lower pulmonary valve, oxygen deficiency, difficulty breathing, severe cyanosis, and failure to thrive. This was a complex procedure, and the baby's case had been referred to several hospitals in different countries, but they declined due to the complexity of the operation. The surgery was performed under the supervision of a highly qualified and experienced medical team, including Dr. Awni Al-Madani, Senior Consultant in Pediatric Cardiology, Dr. Ashraf Al-Shami, the surgical team, and a select group of highly qualified nursing staff.
