We Stole This Riff: a film about The Residents (2011 rough cut excerpts)

This is a strange little project I was mucking about with on the side for a few years that delved into the early days of The Residents... those sons of cryptic sonic fun. There were a few hours of rough collages cut together, about six interviews done, and some 16mm/super-8 footage shot... but mainly it's me doing the found footage thing with an eyeball emphasis. Here's a half hour selection of excerpts from a documentary so obscure it was never made much less completed, so why not go support the big neat one and give 'em some money? Theory of Obscurity, it's called. Pretty fab so search on that one! Then go buy more stuff from http://residents.com -- when you're finished, have a nice refreshing nap -- you've earned it! Then possibly get back to this little thing. All music by The Residents, most art by Pour No Graphics and anybody who ever made a film about The Residents... all apologies to The Cryptic Corporation as this is entirely unofficial and for the squinting eyes of a few friends of mine and a guy in Germany and oh yeah, thanks to Joel Hodgson for the appropriate intro. Obviously this was FAR from completed before the tearful abandonment but maybe it'll give you a dry chuckle and make you want to go buy the real thing... in the future.
