Steam in the Bush - L 508 at Shantytown (HD)
South of Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island is a tourist attraction called Shantytown which includes a typical West Coast town from the 1900's taking people back in time. One of the main activities in the park is the Infants Creek Railway which operates a steam train up the short but steep line on a formation on an old West Coast bush tramway. Today's locomotive is L 508 "Gertie" which is seen working hard on a icy rail on the bush tramway during a fine winter's day. Enjoy the sound of the 1877 built locomotive shuttling back and forth up Shantytown's Infants Creek Railway! Check out Shantytown's website and Facebook for more information and updates.
