Showcasing all cutscenes movie, the full ost soundtrack, all areas, all characters deaths, all puzzle solutions and the full ending scene. RIME REVIEW Rime starts in a mysterious way, you are on an unknown island, unsure as to what happened or why you are here, the game puts the player in a fantasy world to explore the possibilities in this mysterious world of Rime. The story itself doesn't make sense until the ending of the game, at which point it makes the player have more questions about the story, it's a tale about "letting go", which becomes clear as you progress through the game. There will be many puzzles that will seem quite interesting at first, but the game relies on using the same tricks throughout the most sections in the game, at which half of the game is mostly re-using puzzles in a different way. The visuals in Rime are quite impressive, yet are they enough to push a GTX 1080 to the limit? I'm actually serious, my GTX 1080 could not keep the game at a stable 60fps on high settings in 4K, while the graphics are impressive, the game suffers from perfomance issues and these become frustrating when exploring a beautiful area, only to jump from 60fps to 30fps. Is the gameplay good? well I enjoyed the simple gameplay and well made animations, the music is truly adidng to the atmosphere at all times, it plays a huge role in the game and builds truly epic moments at times. I enjoyed the first half of Rime a bit more than the second, the unexpected ideas that were presented in the first half were really interesting, while the second is mostly there to make the game longer with no benefit to the story or characters. That being said I enjoyed Rime and would recommended the game to fans of games like Journey and Ico. The length of the game is quite short, you can probably squeeze out 6 hours if you explore well, a 4-6 hour game for the price of $40 with not much replay value means you should probably wait for a price drop.
