Common Baptism of the Gabori Community - May 30, Târgu Mureș Multipurpose Hall | In Step with Life A special spiritual and social event will take place on May 30 at the Multipurpose Hall in Târgu Mureș: the common baptism of the Gabori Adventist Christians, the first event of its kind in the last 18 years. In this edition of the show "In Step with Life", produced by Sorin Dinu, we talk to jurist Gabor Iancu, one of the leaders of the Gabor Adventist community in the Mureș area, about the significance of this moment and the involvement of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Southern Transylvania. Learn about the series of spiritual conferences held by evangelist John Javaratnam during the period February 7-14 at the Eminescu Hall in Târgu Mureș, where approximately 500-600 people from the Gabor community responded to the call of the word. The evangelist, originally from India and who came to Romania in 1996, has been working among the Roma and Gypsy brothers for almost 30 years, identifying with this community. After the daily lectures, the church leaders made house-to-house visits, together with people with their problems, forming the list of those prepared for baptism. Gabor Iancu speaks movingly about the young Gabors aged 18-25 who showed a special spiritual interest, about the decisive role of Pastor Iosif Suciu and other leaders such as Cioabă Lasló, Cucu and Vlad Bogdan (the president of the conference) in preparing the approximately 45-50 people who will enter the water of baptism. We also discuss the delicate balance between preserving the cultural identity of the Gabors and biblical Christian values.
