What happens when you’re a well-respected man on the outside — and someone completely different underneath? In Part 1 of this four-part series, I sit down with my colleague Chris Jones — a UK-based counselor and Certified Deceptive Sexuality and Trauma Therapist who works with the DST model developed by Dr. Omar Minwalla. What makes Chris’s voice on this so powerful is that he didn’t come into this work as a therapist first. He came in as a client. He’s lived it. In this opening conversation, Chris shares his own story of living a divided life — two completely separate realities running at the same time. The man everyone admired and respected, and the secret life only he knew about. He talks about how the compartmentalizing started as young as 10 years old, what it actually felt like to hold those two worlds apart for so long, and the exhaustion that eventually made the whole thing collapse.
