POZABLJENE IN ZAMOLČANE VREDNOTE VODE

A short film about the Ljubljansko barje (Ljubljana Marsh) - Forgotten and withheld values of water has been produced over the last three years as part of the project Restoration and Conservation of Ljubljansko barje Wetland Habitats - PoLJUBA. The film presents the cultural landscape of the Ljubljansko barje, its function of water retention, climate mitigation and water purification. The film takes us from the time of the pile dwellers to the present day. It shows the beauty of the plain, interwoven with a network of ditches and meadows, often shrouded in a misty veil, and the colourful wet meadows. The film-maker, Matej Vranič, has also managed to capture some of the rare, endangered and hidden inhabitants of the area. The investment is co-funded by the EU from the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Slovenia.
