Testicular Biopsy For Azoospermia (Nil Sperm Count) | Dr Health
Testicular Biopsy For Azoospermia (Nil Sperm Count) | Dr Health In this video, Himanshu Dhawan will talk about the procedure of Testicular Biopsy. Address: B-92, Sushant Lok, Phase 1, Gurgaon, Haryana, Near Huda City Centre Metro Station- 122009. What is the procedure for Testicular Biopsy? If a doctor recommends an individual to go for Testicular Biopsy, it would be due to some reason, and one of them is to check what is the condition inside the testicles and the process of production of new sperm cells (Spermatozoa), as in most of the cases Sertoli cells are visible which affects the production of sperm cells due to some hindrance in spermatogenesis process. If there is no problem in the production of sperm and there is no testicular deformity, and still you are unable to conceive, then it could be due to some blockage. If the testosterone levels are all normal but the spermatogenesis process doesn’t take place, it is recommended to go for TESA (Testicular sperm aspiration) as you can know what your sperm count is, and also you can know does it even exists or not. With the help of this procedure, one can know whether the sperm has the ability to fertilize an embryo and if so, they can opt for IVF (in vitro fertilization) and implant the fertilized egg. All the patients of Azoospermia who have been suggested to go for testicular biopsy are recommended to go for TESA (Testicular sperm aspiration)as it can help to resolve some problems without any side effects. This is recommended as many patients who have gone for testicular biopsy tend to have pain after the procedure as the testicles are cut open with a blade to acquire a sample; this sample is then sent to the lab for further testing to know whether sperm is present or not. If you do not want to go for Testicular sperm aspiration, you can also opt for FNAC (Fine needle aspiration cytology). Later in the video, reports a patient will be shared who was struggling with nil sperm count, but with the help of Dr. Health, the patient was able to recover and is living a stress-free life.
