"The Wheat and the Grapes" | Revelation 14:14-20 (ESV) Thy Will Be Done - Week 26 - The Harvest Pastor Patrick Dailey - Ontario Community Church The sky opens: one like a son of man on a white cloud, crowned with gold, a sharp sickle in His hand. It is the harvest Jesus promised in the parable of the wheat and the weeds, now happening in real time. Two reapings: • The grain — gathered into the barn • The grapes of the vine of the earth — thrown into the great winepress of the wrath of God In this message: • The reaper on the cloud is the Son of Man of Daniel 7 — the Lamb who kept His promise of the resurrection will keep His promise of the harvest • The angel who calls for the grapes comes from the altar where the martyrs cried, "How long until you avenge our blood" — vengeance belongs to God, not to us • The winepress is trodden outside the city — where Jesus Himself was crucified He drank the winepress of wrath outside the gate so His wheat would never have to.
