I Finally Played Dark Souls...It Destroyed Me

I went into Dark Souls expecting nothing. For years, I thought it was overrated. Over hyped. Just another “hard for the sake of being hard” game that people wouldn’t shut up about. I was wrong. This is my first real experience with Dark Souls — from confusion and frustration, to getting completely destroyed by bosses, to slowly understanding what makes this game so special. The world, the design, the difficulty… it all started to click in a way I didn’t expect. Somewhere along the way, this stopped being a game I wanted to criticize… and became one I couldn’t put down.
