PIC reports R51 billion growth in assets, nearing R2,6 trillion
The largest asset manager in the country - the Public Investment Corporation - reported that it grew assets under management by R51 billion in the year ended 31 March 2023 -- taking its total stock of assets under management to just shy of R2.6 trillion. The PIC revealed this at a media briefing earlier today. This follows the formal tabling of the asset manager's integrated annual report for 2022/2023 by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana to Parliament in September. The PIC managed this performance in what has been characterized as a tough investment terrain for asset managers, given local and international pressures.
