Mujeres rurales y el desafío de acceder a la tierra
Access to land has historically been one of the main inequalities faced by rural women in Uruguay. To reverse this reality, the National Institute of Colonization created the Women's Land program in 2022, a policy aimed at promoting women's access to productive land. In this interview, we speak with Karina Henderson, director of the National Institute of Colonization representing the farmers' associations, and with Jacqueline Cachi, a farmer from Canelones and member of the Entre Ovejas y Cabras (Between Sheep and Goats) group, one of the initiatives benefiting from the program.
