Андрій Сілецький: Живе виконання на кобзі Остапа Вересая (Львів — Карпати, 2025)

In this video, we present a musical video album captured in the final days of summer 2025. It features a ninety-minute live performance on the Ostap Veresai kobza. The unique construction and tuning of this instrument recreate the primordial "kobzar" sound, bridging ancient traditions with modern reinterpretations. About the Performer: Andriy Siletskyi is a multifaceted figure: a musician, actor, and woodcarver. His profound understanding of both the material (wood) and the musical tradition allows him to infuse the sound with vital energy, making each song a holistic experience. Repertoire: The repertoire spans a wide chronological range: from 18th-century Baroque chants to folk songs recorded directly from tradition-bearers or learned from the performances of other kobzars. The most contemporary work in the program is the Anthem of the UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army), which takes on a special historical resonance when accompanied by the Veresai kobza. About the Recording: All songs were recorded in a single take, preserving the raw energy of the moment, ambient sounds, and authentic emotion. The recording geography covers two contrasting spaces: the dynamic urban environment of Lviv and the serene atmosphere of "Didova Khatchyna" in the village of Yavoriv (Carpathian Mountains).
