A617 - Heath - M1 Jct 29 to Pleasley

The A617 runs for 31 miles (50km) from the A61 and A619 at Chesterfield to the M1 at junction 29 with a fast dual carriageway and then to Mansfield as a slower route through villages. The A617 carries most of the single carriageway Mansfield bypass, opened in 2004, and then the dual carriageway Rainworth bypass, opened in 2000. Skirting just north of the cathedral town of Southwell, the road finishes with a roundabout on the A46 at Newark-on-Trent, close to the junction with the A1. This video shows a south-eastbound journey along the A617, from the roundabout with the M1 motorway at junction 29 near the village of Heath, to the roundabout with the B6047 and B6417 at Pleasley, close to the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire border. Filming date: May 2026.
