Aundrey Burno Speaks on the 1995 Police Shooting That Changed His Life Forever
In Part 2 of his first interview since the HBO classic Thug Life in D.C., Aundrey Burno opens up about one of the most infamous moments of his life — the 1995 D.C. police shooting that forever changed his future. Aundrey takes us back to that night: standing outside at 2–3 AM, watching people’s backs, not even realizing a police officer was nearby. He describes being on a payphone with a gun in his hand when he suddenly heard the officer yell, “Drop your weapon.” In a split-second moment of panic, his only thought was: “I can’t go back to jail.” From that instant, his life spiraled into chaos. He recalls the fear, the confusion, and running back to his neighborhood as police cars swarmed the area. He admits he didn’t even realize the severity of what happened until the next morning, when he saw it reported on the news. Aundrey details how he wasn’t arrested immediately — he was picked up in 1996 on unrelated charges, and while locked up, detectives began tying him to the shooting and a homicide. He talks about letters that ended up in the hands of homicide detectives, accusations from other inmates, and the immense pressure he faced to confess. Ultimately, he went to trial. Aundrey says he beat the police shooting, but he was later convicted of homicide and sentenced to 25 to life plus 40 to life, sealing his fate behind bars for decades. This part of the interview is raw and emotional — a man finally explaining, in his own words, what really happened during one of the most infamous chapters of D.C.’s street history. #PrimeQualityTV #ExclusiveInterview #LongFormInterview #UncutInterview #RawInterview #VladTVStyle #UrbanMedia #CultureInterviews #Aundreyburno #ThugLifeInDC #DCStories #DCStreetHistory #DCMurders #DCLife #WashingtonDC #DMVHistory #DCCulture #DMVUncut#PoliceShooting #LifeSentence #PrisonStories #Incarceration #PrisonLife #JusticeSystem #CourtCases #StreetPolitics #PrisonTime #BehindBars#HBO #HBOClassics #UrbanDocumentary #ThugLife #StreetDocumentary #HBOOriginal #streetdocumentary More to come in Part 3!
