Removing and inspecting the original PCV valve on my Mercedes W166 ML350 BlueTEC with the OM642 diesel engine at approximately 50,000km / 30,000 miles. At the time I reinstalled the original valve, but later replaced it with a new unit — so the comments were correct, it was already showing signs of wear.
