Cab Ride - Hexham to Mt. Pleasant July 2026

Join me on a real time run with sound from the Hexham Train Support Facility in the Lower Hunter of NSW Australia, along the Main North Railway line to Mt. Pleasant coal mine. Cities and towns along the way include Maitland, Singleton and Muswellbrook among others. This is my longest video to date, and while I wished I could have had a green light run, apart from stopping near Greta it was mostly an uninterrupted trip. I've been trialing different placements of the microphone to reduce wind noise, which I accomplished with this video, but there is less of the diesel engine sound and more of the brake rack. I'll try and fine tune it again on future captures. All in-cab procedures were followed while capturing this footage. I will follow this video up with a hi-speed time-lapse version, but include the sound as well. This will likely be how my uploads will go from now on, with the real time speed video coming first.
