Protecting crops simply and effectively is one of the gardener's greatest challenges. Animals also want their share of food, and if you don't act quickly, all your efforts can end in frustration. It's important to know not only which materials are appropriate, but also how to remove and replace the protections on a daily basis without excessive effort. The floating nets I'm showing you are my best remedy for protecting plants from various threats. They are high-density polyethylene nets designed to protect crops from hail. But they can be used for other purposes, as I show in this chapter.
