Making a Classic Hand Stitched Leather Knife Sheath
The final step of all of my knife builds is making the leather sheath. I use veg tan leather and a few very basic tools, along with dyes, contact cement and some thread to stitch it all together. This sheath is more of an "antique/classic" fold over style. In the video I showcase all the basic techniques that any beginner leatherworker and knife maker need to make a leather sheath (stitching, applying dye, surface prep, glue up, sanding and finishing). I also show how you can add a little bit of tooling along the stitch to add some character. If you are also interested in how the actual knife was made you can check out my previous video to see the full build. Custom handmade knives - Helix Knives https://www.helixknives.com/
