Il finale di Death of a Unicorn spiegato (e perché ha senso) | Analisi Film
Death of a Unicorn, the directorial debut of Alex Scharfman for A24, starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, is one of those films almost everyone filed away as "cute, but nothing special." And I sort of get it. But on a rewatch I noticed something that completely changes how you look at it, and that most reviews missed entirely. I won't tell you what here, because it's the whole point of the video. I'll only say it has to do with a real, five-hundred-year-old work of art, and with the almost obsessive level of craft hidden behind this film. Once you know it, Death of a Unicorn stops being a throwaway creature feature and becomes far more interesting. In this video essay I break the film down piece by piece: the father-daughter dynamic between Elliot and Ridley, the satire of the pharmaceutical world, the design of the unicorns themselves, and of course that ending that split everyone. I explain what works, what doesn't, and why I think this is a seriously underrated film. WARNING: this video contains full spoilers, including the ending. If you haven't seen Death of a Unicorn yet and don't want it ruined, watch it first and then come back. If you enjoy this kind of film and TV analysis, consider subscribing. And let me know in the comments how you read that final scene.
