In this video, we visit Florencia, the municipal seat of the municipality of Benito Juárez, located in the southern part of the state of Zacatecas, very close to the border with Jalisco. This town, known by some residents as "the capital of the world" or "the center of the world," is situated within the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range and the Tlaltenango Canyon, at an approximate altitude of 2,182 meters above sea level. The name Florencia comes from a local legend that tells of a couple named Florencio and Florencia, originally from Spain, who settled in the region around 1847, giving rise to the town's name. Among its most important traditions is its patron saint festival in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated from November 30th to December 8th, featuring religious events, carnival rides, and fireworks.
