Rafting the Franklin River - TUWWRC

Here is the long awaited video of the 2022 Tasmanian University White Water Rafting club trip. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed recording the footage for it! Thankyou again to Eoin for helping guide us safely down the river and to all the people who put in a tremendous amount of work to make the trip happen! Some effort has been put in to name each of the rapids but please reachout if you find an error. If you are thinking of running a trip down the Franklin then I warn you now, while this video may be an okay reference for the river at 5000-2000 ML/day, it doesn't even come close to what the river looks like at any other level. I only offer you this advise: Take an experianced guide and don't be rushed by time. If the river is high, stay in camp and don't even think about moving until the flood has abated. On falling flood water you can paddle from Newlands to Sir John Falls in one grueling long day and this would still be a safer option then tempting the fury of the Frankling.
