Bleaklow Head Wild Camp in the glorious Peak District.

It was a beautiful day for October, so we packed our rucksacks and headed off for a Wildcamp on Bleaklow. The weather forecast looked good with maybe rain coming in sometime mid morning.. Well, the rain most certainly came in! From 3.30am it absolutely chucked it down and didn't stop for the rest of the day.. Never had to pack up the kit in pouring rain before, especially somewhere so remote.. it was messy!! But the previous evening, we had been blessed with an outrageously stunning sunset and it was quite warm for the time of year. The clag came in thick and heavy and we made a little silly mistake in wondering off track briefly.. we got lost! But I soon had us back on track, after a panic, and although the weather was terrible, we were really sad to leave this camp.. it was a very special experience and the tent really looked after us in some extreme conditions.. we love it even more now! Bleaklow is just a very special place and we now know we can do big wildcamps in very far away places and it will take some doing to top this one.. but we'll give it a bloody good go! 😊⛺💚 #peakdistrict #bleaklow #wildcamping #hiking #outdoors #sunset #oex
