Causes of Internal Elbow Stiffness: Any bone deformity within the joint Nature of Elbow Stiffness: The patient is dissatisfied with the appearance and function because the surrounding joints don't compensate. We need a total range of motion of 30-130 meters. The patient usually requests Surgery is indicated when the curvature of the elbow does not exceed 40 degrees and the flexion does not exceed 120 degrees. Examination of Elbow Stiffness: Grades (even with a hundred degrees, difficulty in buttoning a button and holding a mobile phone is present). Is there improvement in movement with downward rotation of the arm? Ensure the integrity of the medial collateral ligament of the elbow. Ensure the integrity of the ulnar nerve. Assess muscle strength. Required X-rays for Elbow Stiffness: Plain and CT scans. If pain is present, we check for signs of inflammation. Treatment of Elbow Stiffness: The most important thing is to treat elbow problems correctly from the beginning and to mobilize the affected area as soon as possible. Post-operative care: Ice, elevation of the arm, and anti-inflammatory medications. Surgical Treatment of Elbow Stiffness: General or local anesthesia. Posterior or lateral incision. Through these incisions, we release the fibrous tissue in the extensor muscle of the elbow. All the depressions where the elbow joint resides are cleaned, and the prominences are reduced. Then, we move forward and repeat the same procedure. We did it. If the range of motion is less than 100, we need to examine the ulnar nerve.
