Stone and River. This is a song for those who lost a son or daughter way too early. I lost my son years ago due to a drowning accident on a rough part of the river. At that time I was over 200 miles away, after getting a divorce from my wife. I got the news when I was working in my garage. It was news that no parent wanted to hear. It was a feeling that was hard to describe. It took me a long time to create this song knowing that today, July 10, is the anniversary of my son's death. I pray for every parent that has ever been through a situation like I have. Some have asked me if I was mad at God for taking him from me. All I could say was that God needed him more than I. But mad at God? Perhaps in the beginning maybe I was but I know that he does things for a reason. Maybe it's not fully explained but that's how it is. So I say, if God took your precious child from you, don't be angry with him for there's a reason why he took them.
