Building a Homestead Fueling Station
Howard and I build a shed for a diesel storage tank. With two diesel tractors, a fuel tank and pump will make things much more convenient. The Ford 3000 and Kubota L4701 both have fuel caps in the middle of the hood. This makes it a challenge when wrangling heavy 5 gallon cans. Plus there's always some spillage. A gas station type pump makes everything much cleaner. My dad and I came across this used fuel tank and pump at an estate sale. It's a 150 gallon tank that's just a little too big for my needs if full, but just about right with a couple of drums in it. I made sure to put some diesel conditioner/biocide in it for longer term storage. I used Power Service biocide. I put about 115 gallons of off road diesel fuel in it. That should last a while.
