Machino Town, Wajima City, which suffered devastating damage from the Noto Peninsula earthquake in 2024, held a resident-led reconstruction event, the Sakura Festival, three months later. With no prospect of recovery in sight, one of the organizers, Kensai Oishi, raised the flag of "keep it fun" and contributed to the town's recovery and reconstruction. However, in the midst of the recovery, heavy rain disaster struck the town again in September 2024. Countless amounts of soil and driftwood spread throughout the town. Although they were temporarily driven to a hopeless state, the residents once again continued to work hard on the recovery efforts. Attracted by their energy, more and more people began to live in Machino and continue to support the town.
