Canada is joining Eurovision, Europe's wildly popular song contest that mixes pop music, kitsch, glitter and national pride. The move has been championed by Prime Minister Mark Carney and comes at a time when Canada faces a difficult moment in its relationship with Washington, and Eurovision deals with a boycott over Israel’s participation.
