The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has sacked Sergeant Chidi Awuse, as the Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council. The governor announced the Paramount Ruler of Apara Kingdom, Chike Worlu Wodo, as the new Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers accusing Awuse of inactivity and absence of effective leadership of the council under him. Recall that Mr Awuse was appointed the former Governor, Nyesom Wike. In a related development, the Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State insisted that their decision to remain in office after the expiration of their three-year tenure is backed by law.
