Vacation (By foot from LINGZHI to THIMPHU) and some of the difficulties we are facing

Have you ever served in remotely located areas in Bhutan? What are the difficulties you faced? Serving in the remote areas of Bhutan has been an incredible yet challenging experience for me. The rugged terrain makes travel difficult, and we often have to rely on horses to get around. The high altitude, sometimes reaching up to 5,000 meters, can be tough, I’ve definitely felt the effects of altitude sickness and exhaustion. The extreme weather conditions add another layer of difficulty to my daily life. On top of the physical challenges, there’s also an emotional toll. Leaving behind my family and friends has been hard. Overall, this experience has tested my physical endurance and emotional resilience as I navigate the harsh environment and the isolation that comes with it. As summer vacation unfolds, my colleagues and I are finally heading home, and the excitement is palpable. The long-awaited break from the demanding routine in the remote areas of Bhutan feels like a breath of fresh air. We’re sharing laughter and stories during our journey, reminiscing about the challenges we faced and the bonds we forged in those high-altitude landscapes. The lush greenery and vibrant colors of summer contrast sharply with the rugged terrain we’ve grown accustomed to, filling us with a renewed sense of joy and appreciation for the beauty of our homeland.
