The SAD Disappearance of ENGLISH FOOTBALL GROUNDS

The Premier League changed English Football. Of course it came off the back of Italia 90 and a new trust in football fans WHICH was of course off the back of peak football hooliganism and tragedy in the 1980s. Most notably the "Hillsborough Disaster" which resulted in the "Taylor Report" which required all football league grounds to become all-seater stadiums. This change forced change in not only the aesthetics of the old school ground, but in a lot of people's opinions - fan atmosphere too. Over the decades we've said farewell to stadiums like The Dell, Highfield Road, Highbury, Roker Park, White Hart Lane and soon Goodison Park will be added to that list. Most of the new stadiums are built on the outskirts of town and further away from the beating heart of the community. There are many benefits to moving to a new, modern stadium... But we can't help but feel sad and nostalgic when thinking about the loss of these iconic grounds... 🏟️ #football #englishfootball #premierleague ----------------------------------------------- Ry's Football Paradise is THE place for Football Stadium Tours | MatchDay Vlogs | English & German Football Action | Football Shirt Ratings and Reviews | + loads LOADS more! ⚽️ Get involved in the Football Paradise community by sharing a comment below and following on Instagram (RysFootyParadise) 👍🏽 If there are any grounds you'd like us to visit specifically - let us know! 🏟️
