Day 10: Chair Exercises for Stronger Legs and Better Balance

Day 10 of doing the same exercises I give to my patients. Today’s routine focused on chair exercises, hip strength, breathing, and balance. Nathan from Skills and Wellness Channel is sharing a simple home therapy routine designed to help adults over 50 improve leg strength, stability, and confidence with movement using mostly seated exercises and one resistance band. We started with warm-ups including trunk rotations, hip rotations, leg swings, ankle circles, side bending, and back extensions to loosen the body and prepare for movement. Then we practiced deep breathing by expanding the ribs outward instead of just pushing the belly out. After that, we focused on chair-based strengthening and balance work, including: pillow squeezes for the inner thighs Theraband hip abductions for the hip abductors side steps with the Theraband seated biceps curls with the Theraband standing balance with feet together and arms crossed This routine helps train the muscles that support: better balance stronger hips easier standing safer walking improved posture more control during everyday movement If you are looking for chair exercises for seniors, seated exercises for balance, hip strengthening exercises, Theraband exercises, or home exercises to stay independent, this is a great routine to try.
