ANOTHER Pontiac Fuel Pump FAILURE!? What the HECK!?

Don't adjust your TV sets folks, if you have been paying attention on this channel over the last couple of months you know we very recently replaced the mechanical fuel pump on our Pontiac 350 in the 1968 Pontiac Project. Not to be out done, now the 455 Pontiac under the hood of my 1970 Pontiac LeMans is demanding one too! To make this even MORE annoying, this will be the 4th fuel pump on this car in the 10,000 or so miles since the car was put together! When this car left me stranded just a couple days ago, I was almost certain it was an electrical issue. We've had intermittent ignition issues for the last several years and that seemed like the most likely culprit. Surely, this couldn't be ANOTHER fuel pump. The one on it wasn't but a few thousand miles old! Well, time to stop screwing around with factory replacement units and I'm stepping up to a Holley Mechanical fuel pump, vastly more expensive and HOPEFULLY more than capable of keeping up with the demand and abuse! Here we go, Pontiac V8 Fuel Pump replacement time! For those curious, yes this is the same exact parts and process for essentially ALL Pontiac V8s, the 350 Pontiac, 400 Pontiac, 455 Pontiac, even the older 389 Pontiac, they all share this exact same pump. Thanks to my friends at Jegs for actually stocking this part so I could get it in my hands and get my hot rod back on the road!
