Aula 42 || Campo Harmônico A7M no CAGED | Como tocar de ouvido | Violão do Zero ao Avançado
Harmonic Field of A7M (A Major with 7th) in the CAGEDO System The Harmonic Field of A7M refers to the diatonic (natural) chords built from the A Major scale, using tetrads (chords of 4 notes, with a seventh). Chords of the A Major Harmonic Field (with 7th): I — A7M (A Major with 7th) II — Bm7 (B minor with 7th) III — C#m7 (C# minor with 7th) IV — D7M (D Major with 7th) V — E7 (E dominant 7th) VI — F#m7 (F# minor with 7th) VII — G#m7(b5) (G# half-diminished) Basic scale: A – B – C# – D – E – F# – G# How to apply it in the CAGED System The CAGED system uses the 5 basic open chord shapes (C – A – G – E – D) to move these chords and arpeggios across the entire guitar/acoustic guitar neck. For the harmonic field of A: Choose a root form (e.g., A or E form for A7M). Move the same form to the following degrees, maintaining the pattern of tones and semitones of the major scale. Practice connecting the positions: Each degree of the field will have 5 positions (CAGED) along the fretboard. Work with triads and tetrads in the same positions for better visualization. Practical tips in CAGED: Start with the E form or the A form for A7M (common and comfortable). Map the entire harmonic field into one position (e.g., all notes and chords within a CAGED form). Use for improvisation: Play arpeggios of each chord or use the major scale over the entire field. Connect with pentatonic scales (e.g., the major pentatonic scale works well over A7M, D7M, E7). Example of a common progression: A7M → F#m7 → Bm7 → E7 (I – VI – II – V) Study one form at a time (e.g., all the positions of A7M in the CAGED chart, then Bm7 in the same positions) to master the entire fretboard. This is fundamental for accompaniment, composition, improvisation, and fast transposition. Practice slowly, connecting the forms!
